Did God make the Jews kill Jesus in turning them to hate the truth?

II Thessalonians 2:10-12

And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:

That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

If God sent strong delusion then who can be blamed but God?

He deludes them and then damns them for being deluded?

    That's satanic.

No. Jesus wasn't the messiah in the first place.

Judaism teaches that the messiah will fulfill the following prophecies--**none** of which Jesus did.

    * The Sanhedrin will be re-established (Isaiah 1:26)

    * Once he is King, leaders of other nations will look to him for guidance. (Isaiah 2:4)

    * The whole world will worship the One God of Israel (Isaiah 2:17)

    * He will be descended from King David (Isaiah 11:1) via King Solomon (1 Chron. 22:8-10)

    * The Moshiach will be a man of this world, an observant Jew with "fear of God" (Isaiah 11:2)

    * Evil and tyranny will not be able to stand before his leadership (Isaiah 11:4)

    * Knowledge of God will fill the world (Isaiah 11:9)

    * He will include and attract people from all cultures and nations (Isaiah 11:10)

    * All Israelites will be returned to their homeland (Isaiah 11:12)

    * Death will be swallowed up forever (Isaiah 25:8)

    * There will be no more hunger or illness, and death will cease (Isaiah 25:8)

    * All of the dead will rise again (Isaiah 26:19)

    * The Jewish people will experience eternal joy and gladness (Isaiah 51:11)

    * He will be a messenger of peace (Isaiah 52:7)

    * Nations will end up recognizing the wrongs they did to Israel (Isaiah 52:13-53:5)

    * The peoples of the world will turn to the Jews for spiritual guidance (Zechariah 8:23)

    * The ruined cities of Israel will be restored (Ezekiel 16:55)

    * Weapons of war will be destroyed (Ezekiel 39:9)

    * The Temple will be rebuilt (Ezekiel 40) resuming many of the suspended mitzvot

    * He will then perfect the entire world to serve God together (Zephaniah 3:9)

    * Jews will know the Torah without Study (Jeremiah 31:33)

    * He will give you all the desires of your heart (Psalms 37:4)

    * He will take the barren land and make it abundant and fruitful (Isaiah 51:3, Amos 9:13-15, Ezekiel 36:29-30, Isaiah 11:6-9)

God does not make anyone do evil. Man has free will. It was greed, power, ignorance and the political nature of the times that created the atmosphere to crucify Jesus. Could the Jews in power at the time have changed this...yes. But they choose death instead of life. It still goes on today in many facets of life/society. I hope that we learn from history.

The Jews didn't kill Jesus. The Romans did. Read the Book.

2 Thessalonians 2 is about the Church itself... The Church up there pretending to be "god" sitting on the throne of "god"...

Here's a question for you to think about regarding the Jewish faith though.... they don't believe in your "god" so why do you believe in their evil Old Testament god?

Apparently, God is a liar and a murderer.

In this we need to identify order and structure in the wording. You see, Paul did not write blindly, or out of order. He was a well learned pharisee. Among the priesthood of the Jews, order was a necessity. It was taught in the ordinances and statutes that were defined in Moses' day.

First it was in them to love the truth, to receive the truth - then they did not receive it, they rejected it. That is the first step, and according to the Word of the Lord through Daniel and through Jesus, God gave them 490 years to repent of their sins, and in that time the Father sent the Son. There has been enough evidence in the old testament to prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that Jesus IS the Messiah. But Jews will go out of their way to find "prophecies" that don't exist, in order to substantiate their claim that Messiah has not come. In truth, God should never cause the whole world to bow to Him without also allowing them a way to enter Heaven. The wages of sin is death. If there is no propitiation for sin, there is no way into Heaven.

Now the prophecies listed by Mark S are all well and good, there is only one he has listed that is not prophecy (Psalm 37:4 - check the conditions of giving one the desire of his heart). But they all pertain to the second coming of Christ, when sin will be vanquished. We cannot live forever with God if we have no atoning sacrifice. Therefore Christ MUST come first to create the perfect atoning sacrifice, and then the Holy Spirit later would enter into those of His people who are now His people.

Consider these prophecies:“Bring charges against your mother, bring charges; For she is not My wife, nor am I her Husband!" Hosea 2:2

"Then I will sow her for Myself in the earth, And I will have mercy on her who had not obtained mercy; Then I will say to those who were not My people,‘ You are My people!’ And they shall say, ‘You are my God!’ " Hosea 2:22

Those who formerly were not of Israel will be grafted in, like Rahab of Jericho, and like Ruth the Moabitess, so long as they remain faithful to the Lord. The first nation will be disowned.

Now the wording of Daniel 9 leaves far too many skeptics, but I will say this for it. There are 2 reflections found in the final week, a reason for the wording to be redefined more than once. The first is found in Christ on earth. The second is found in Christ in Heaven. They also are 2 separate timelines. The first is a day-year principle; the second is a day - prophetic year principle. This is why the Jews find it so hard to believe - ultimately they are looking for the everlasting Kingdom, for Christ to establish on earth. They will find instead, a false Christ, who will bring in an era of world peace for the most part. They will believe the lie.

2 Thessalonians 2:3 "Let no one deceive you by any means, for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition, who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshipped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God."

Christ had to come with the TRUTH first. They had to decide against it. Then the deceiver could come and prevail in their minds, creating a kingdom to himself on earth, and exalting himself with the glory of God. Then the true eternal kingdom can be established.

Psalm 22 holds a testimony about Jesus I have not yet seen disputed (thought they will likely prove me wrong soon): Psalm 22:14-18 "I am poured out like water, and all My bones are out of joint; My heart is like wax; it has melted within me. My strenth is dried up like a potsherd and My tongue clings to My jaws; You have brought Me to the dust of death. For dogs have surrounded me; the congregation of the wicked has enclosed Me. They pierced My hands and My feet; I can count all My bones. They look and stare at Me. They divide My garments among them, And for My clothing they cast lots."

They could call it David's feelings - but honestly, this dividing of garments and piercing of hands and feet never happened. Pay attention, my brethren! You who in that day, if you had felt Jesus had sin, could have cast stones to Him for blasphemy! You could not do so, not because of the mob, but because it was the TRUTH - Jesus had no sin. If you had rightfully found a sin, you would have taken the mob, and sacrificed your own bodies for the truth. Instead you would reject the truth and enjoin yourselves to the whole world that is deceived by a man. The devil has a kingdom divided against itself, and will use his own devices to wrought out for you what appears to be miracles. Only a real knowledge of the truth will help anyone in that day. Those who worship the beast will also worship that man. And take instead of the seal of God, the mark of the beast.

To completely answer your question, God gave each man a choice to make. Not all of them chose wrong, but most did. God will never force His will upon anyone. But those who hear the will of the Father will be compelled to speak such, and do such things that are in accordance with His will. God used the circumstance that would be brought about by the people to save the world - but it was not by force. It was by His divine foreknowledge of the events that allowed Him to bring it to pass perfectly, so that Jesus could be our atoning sacrifice.

He who has an ear, let him hear!
