diesel mechanics, I have a problem and want to clarify it my 95 Chevy suburban 2500 diesel?

white smoke is indicative of water in the exhaust, like from a leaking head gasket. Reading codes and replacing parts is a hit or miss way of solving problems as the code only indicates the symptom and not necessarily the probable cause. for this you need a mechanic with a scanner that talks to your computer to read all the sensor inputs etc. The solution is not always straightforward. this is why a good mechanic makes the big bucks.

What are these idiots talking about, they are a bunch of people that don't even have them. I am a fleet manager for a tow truck company we run 32 ford super duty all diesel. We have tried them all the chevy truck last the weekend sometimes. I wouldn't embarress the driver by putting them in Dodges because they are the worst. Go with the Ford people will think you are great. Like the old saying goes " if you can't afFORD quaility buy a dodge"
