    let's see, the pros are:

They are very loving, pretty calm once full grown and can be couch potatoes most of the time, love to sit next to or cuddle up with their owners, don't shed much, aren't yappy, don't require tons of exercise since they get most of it inside when they get their little bursts of energy a couple times a day that usually only last about 10 - 15 min.

    Cons:

They require daily combing and brushing, need to be taken to the groomers every 6 - 8 wks if kept in a longer coat or every 3-4 months if initially cut shorter. They can be stubborn and sometimes difficult to potty train depending on the dog. Can have skin allergies which can usually be kept under control with a good diet (mine do well on the grain free foods)

This breed is absolutely the most loving breed ever!! I have two shih tzus and they make me laugh everyday...They are incredibly stubborn which is the only real downside to this breed. If you plan on teaching them any obdience start young and be consistant. If you give them an inch they'll take a mile. Overall they love to lick (kiss), have endless energy, very friendly (mine love kids/anyone), and they make people smile. Good Luck!!!

I have a little guy and just adore him. They are very loving and easy to train. The only draw back is they require lots of grooming and are prone to allergies. The allergies usually can be controlled by feeding a high quality dog food.

My in-laws have 3. They are cute and friendly. But since they have longer hair, she has to groom them every month. They can get stinky when it is grooming time!

They are usually energetic, fun, funny looking lol, don't take big doo-doo's lol, easy to hold. hyper...really good dog..can be hard to train sometimes though.
