i was looking at getting a jg ak47, and it says it has a metal gear box. what does this mean?

A Metal Gear Box (MGB) is as opposed to a Plastic Gear Box (PGB). only MPEG's and up have MGB's, low-end LPEG's have PGB. Metal is obviously a stronger material than plastic, so it will last longer. the function of this piece is usually as a selector switch (choosing from semi/full/safe) and is a housing for the gears of your gun, and even the spring (if i'm not mistaken), so having a strong, long lasting material where many vital components are located at is very important.
