If homosexuality is not wrong why do people try to rationalize it by crying out that they were born that way?

If being black is not wrong, why do people try to rationalize it by crying out that they were born that way?

If being a woman is not wrong, why do women try to rationalize it by crying out they were born that way?

    What, exactly, is your point?

I only ask because every time I think I've got a bead on it, my mind rejects it by reminding me if you suffered a head wound severe enough for that line of thinking to make sense, you wouldn't be able to type any more.

We are born that way, not by choice of course just like any straight person. Homosexuality is only not wrong because its part of who we are naturally. Not rationalizing anything. Just the truth.

Possibly because fundagelicals and other not-well-meaning Christians (and people of other faiths) seem to have made it their existential purpose in life to tell gay people that they somehow "chose" to be gay (which is supposed to make a 5,000 year old commandment in the Old Testament valid, even though these same fundagelicals and other not-well-meaning Christians excuse themselves from following other commandments which prohibit other abominations); and because it makes passages out of St. Paul somehow more "valid" because they're pulled entirely out of context and used as clubs over the heads of gays and lesbians; and possibly because these same fundagelicals and other not-well-meaning Christians do these things so they can excuse their adulterous affairs and their battering their spouses and children and their shady, mendacious business practices by saying, "Well, at least WE'RE not like THOSE AWFUL HOMOSEXUALS!"?

    Whaddya think about *that*, Pal?

It's not rationalization, it's defense against constant attacks. And what's wrong with people saying that they're born that way? Is it just upsetting that there's no good arguements against it?

  • I think that you'll never understand because you are not gay.

Its much easier to point a finger at someone, but guess what when you do that you got three fingers pointing right back at yourself and thats exactly what this comes down to, it comes down to you or anyone else who thinks they have the right to judge when they dont know anything about what their talking about.

Next time you post a question, make sure you have the slightest idea who you are offending and what your talking about.

Because so many other people try to rationalize their irrational animus against homosexuality by insisting that its a choice.

Its it not a rationalization. The LGBT community is merely defending it self against those who speak out against them.

because homophobic people wont accept that people are born that way. Instead they call it a choice or a mental illness when it isn't and they justify discrimination this way..

So is it wrong for someone to simply defend themself?
