I'm already frightened about the present issues and situations! Not that America is a bad country at all; but there still are a lot of things that are going awry.

When I look at the younger generation, the kids in high school, the kids out working, the ones struggling to get through college,
I am very very optimistic
these are very hard working, bright kids.
as for our education system, we have failed them to the point our kids no longer have the best education available in the world, and we should be ashamed
our people have always risen above the crappy politicians we have sent to washington and out state capitals, and we are in the process of doing it right now.
but this generation and generations to come will rise above that.
like the song says "the future's so bright, I gotta wear shades"

I'm not, every 4 to 6 years we get to change leaders if we don't like them. That's part of why it's great to be an American. There will never be a "Red Dawn" occurance in America. If the Democrats try to 'surrender' to the terrorists I have no doubt there would be an uprising, but I don't think it would damage the country as a whole.

Frightened? No.
Concerned Yes.
George Bush has done a lot a damage to our country, our world standing and our economy over the last 7 years. I am hopeful in 6 months with a new president, one with vision and diplomacy that we will begun a healing trend in the world.

I am a little frightened for the US if the wrong man wins the election.

I'm absolutely frightened for us, and for all those who come after us. I don't even consider this country to be a democracy any more...we have basically no freedoms...we may even get blown up by one of our MANY enemies one of these days.

I am, but I feel the same fear every 4 years. I don't really worry about the presidency so much as the smaller ones we vote for. It is all so screwed up now, I am not sure if we will ever go back to sane.

I have to admit that this is the first time in my 57 years that I'm wondering what the future holds...and it has nothing to do with ethnicity! Obama is a Junior Senator and lacks experience. I honestly believe he was groomed by the powers that be in order to keep Hillary Clinton out of the White House. His lack of experience is frightening to me. I am also concerned about who he might choose as a running mate, should it not be Mrs. Clinton. Great question...not racist! Have a wonderful week! Annie
