How do i set up avira to scan files sent by Windows Live messenger?

So i used to have norton as an antivirus and i guess it automatically set itself to scan files sent to me by instant messenging, but recently i switched to avira antivirus, and when i tried to set it up to scan with avira, there are too many files and i dont know which to tell it to use.

"i dont know which to tell it to use."

Open Avira and click on the Help Tab and read all about "Real time scanning / file sharing" or similar wording.

TIP: Rather than asking for the file, ask for the web site Link. Never share files using any IM.

Out of those 2? maximum quite Avira AntiVir very own. even nonetheless typical, AVG unfastened quite isn't that large - it lacks anti-rootkit and a techniques superhighway shield. inspite of the reality that, submit to in techniques that, even nonetheless standard for that's severe detection value, AntiVir very own additionally lacks a techniques superhighway shield (additionally standard as 'WebGuard' and 'AntiDrive-via'). regrettably *all* the freebies are incomplete one way or yet yet another. All pronounced and performed, AntiVir very own maintains to be *quite* between the greater advantageous helpful freebies available nonetheless. Avast! abode version isn't too undesirable the two (greater advantageous finished than AntiVir very own, yet lacks heuristic detection ability).
