I'm thinking of getting a high-end amp and pre-amp. How about some ideas?

I'm thinking of getting rid of a Kenwood amp & pre-amp, an Adcom amp & pre-amp and a Marantz receiver. I might even get rid of a Denon receiver. It's all going on eBay one of these days soon.

I want just one very, very good amp & pre-amp. I don't need bells & whistles. No glitzy looks necessary. I just want very clean, accurate sound. I don't even need much power. The 60-watt Adcom amp has always been plenty loud enough. The 125-watt Marantz is thunderous, but way more than I need.

So what are some options? I guess I'm probably willing to spend 2 to 3 thousand.

You might want to look into Krell or Macintosh (i think thats how it's spelled), you should be able to find a pretty good krell amp for around the price your looking for. I've sold krell in the past and I love them, just my personal opinion :)

Krell is no doubt the way to go. they all follow ohms law and have a ton of headroom! i own their biggest mono-blocs, i cannot tell you how accurate the power delivery is! they are American made pieces of art, no bells and whistles, just pure sonically accurate! for the $, that in my opinion is the only choice. check the site it's awesome and informative! www.krell@online.com i think you will be pleasantly surprised. and they are built for a lifetime. good luck!

    Check out Theta Digital Amps.

Pre-Pro check out Anthem, Onkyo, Lexicon.
