Is it rude to crop a friend out of a profile picture?
she has the same picture of us as her profile pic.
I'd like to use that picture as well, but with myself only
(we are good friends although not best friends...)
what would she think of that?

i can understand both sides. if she gets mad, just explain that you didnt want to have the same picture. for all she knows maybe its the best picture you've ever taken! regardless, you are in the picture, and i don't think its rude if you just want it to be you in it.

I have a friend who habitually crops me out of group pics. I'm not overly sensitive but it does irk me a bit. It sends the message that she's 'embarrassed' to have me seen on her profile. Also, in general I think people who crop pictures so its only themselves give off the 'I'm conceited vibe...look at me!! look at how pretty I am". I mean, I know she's not your best friend or anything - but the fact that she has it as her profile picture and didn't cut you out, it would be common courtesy to do the same.

It is after all "your" profile. It should have "your" picture. Just because she happens to be in that picture with you, doesn't mean she has to be in "your" profile picture. Tell her you didn't want anyone to be confused as to which one was you...or maybe you would want to crop yourself out of the picture and send it to her to use as her profile pic...the you would be even? Might work...but I really don't think it would break a friendship to cut her out and not worry about it.

Why don't you have both pictures on your profile and the one you want to use for your pic, just crop it, but also keep the one with both of you, so she has nothing to say about why did you not keep me on it.
It's not the end of the world.

Personally if it's your profile pic no(You want you in it) but if it's just a pic in an album, yes. No one will assume anything like that, and if they do you comment "We're just friends" It's not that difficult to distinguish the difference for them. You should have left that decision up to her.

i think she'd be pretty mad. if she used the pic the way it is then she must like it the way it is, my advice to you is that if you crop the pic, change it up a bit, add a border, text, or something so that it's not the same as just cropping. In that case, you're customizing and so she might think it's cool rather than be offended by it.

NO!! dont do that. even if she dont mind.
she wont tell you that she mind , that will make her sound petty. and she wont dare to reject even she if she mind.
when ppl see the picture which is obviously being cropped.
they will think that maybe your friend is prettier or more handsome than you thats why you crop the picture!
what if ppl do that to you too? how will you feel?

A few things she would think;
"What did i do wrong?"
"Omg, is she mad at me?"
"WTF"
It's definately mean,
take an individual picture and upload it instead. Leave the other picture how it is.

She might be a little peeved but it would be so petty I doubt she'd say anything to you. It's your profile pic, you can do what you want!
