100 x 2100 = 210000 = 2.1 x 10 (+5)

everytime you multiply a number by 10, you add 0 to the number, if you multiply by 100, you add 2 zeros, 1000(3 zeros) and so on, to take your question as an exemple 100*2100=210000.

Valerie is correct, except she did not include the ^ sign for the power superscript in her answer.
She should have shown: 2.1 times 10^5 or (2.1) x 10^5.
She is still the first to supply the correct answer!
