blu-ray and potential blu-ray buyers: what is more important to you?

blu-ray offers improved picture and audio quality over DVD but it also offers enhanced special features like a picture-in-picture commentary and internet connectivity that has included things like online chats, movie blogs, ringtone and wallpaper offers. If the currently blu-ray price tag wasn't an issue, what would be more important to you: the better picture and audio quality or the features blu-ray offers that dvd does not?

if it weren't for the evolution of television technology moving to HD, then it probably wouldn't matter. But, I want something that is going to utilize my HD flat panels to their maximum potential and that is blu-ray. The higher end television you have, the bigger difference you see between DVD, upconverted DVD, and decent to high-quality blu-ray transfers. For me, being a videophile (not so much an audiophile), the better picture quality and overall HD experience are what sold me on blu-ray. However, every now and then, on movies I happen to be a big fan of, I enjoy viewing the special features. I do prefer the BD-JAVA interactivity over standard DVD menu operation and I do like the option for internet connectivity (though I rarely use it), the primary benefit for me is the picture quality - which is noticeable on my particular televisions - one of which is 1366x768 native 1080/60i and another which is 1440x900 native 1080/60p, both calibrated using HDMI connections from PS3.

    both matter...

nobody would have bought dvds,hd,or blu ray if they didn't want an improved picture and audio quality...so anyone that says otherwise shouldnt own any of them...

bonus features are just that...a bonus...people want more for their money and with little improvement available in picture quality now that we have the ultimate, what is left to attract us as consumers is extras...

sometimes you get a choice...pay x amount for the basic movie and a bit more for a 2 disc extra feature special edition...

personally, sometimes i want the extra features, sometimes not...

certain movies that i love i would buy any extra special seventeen disc special collectors limited edition once in a lifetime super bonus features directors cut, blah blah...but other movies i just wouldn't be fussed...

i wouldnt be interested in things like online chats, movie blogs, ringtones etc, but other special features i would...

anyhow...i dont need to worry too much about it...you know what special features i like and you take care of them pretty well...;0)

    Source(s): She...loves her audio,visual, some special features...and you...;0)...xxx
