Did Joe Torre sign with the LA Dodgers just for the money and not caring if they go into the playoffs?

What do you think? I would say yes.

I would say no but would say he did it to prove that he can still win without being apart of the New York Yankees . I think he wanted to make a statement and if he some way some how gets the Dodgers into the playoffs let alone to the world series then that will be a huge accomplishment for him .

No. The Yankees offered him more money than the Dodgers, so obviously, he didn't sign for money (although he's still making plenty with the Dodgers). The Dodgers are one of the four premier MLB franchises (along with the Yankees, Red Sox, and Cardinals). And of those four teams, the Dodgers are one of only three that are in a major market. It's a pretty elite job. It was an opportunity for him to go to one of the highest profile MLB teams, get away from the pressure and criticism that he dealt with in NY, and to make quite a bit of money (less than he made in NY, but still more than he deserves).

The team hasn't vastly improved much from last year when they finished just two games over .500. Getting Torre might have been they best thing they've done.

If their other two big off season additions, Andrew Jones and Kuroda made some kind of impact, then they wouldn't just be just .500 team.

    Andrew Jones - .165, 2 HR, 7 RBI's

Kuroda - 12 starts and just 2 Wins.

Torre don't care about anything anymore,The only thing he cares about is his Safe At Home Foundation.this is why he was cut loose.

looks like it cause the dodgers are doing horribly.

  • cut him a little slack, they don't have a whole lot there to be proud of. and it is his first year.
