help with a samsung a737?

i'm trying to put numbers from my old phone into my new phone by just taking the information from the old one...but now my new phone [samsunga737] won't even turn on.

i'm almost certain it's charged at least a little.

can you still use the phone while it's charging?

i keep pressing the 'end call' button to turn it on,

but all that happens is,

i see a white screen that says 'at&t' and it goes back off.

what do i do?!
