Can anyone tell me if a 95 Saturn SL1 uses R-12 or R-134a?
My A/C is giving out on me and I want to buy a recharge kit. I'm not sure though that this 95 Saturn SL1 has the R-134A or old R-12 freon. I just don't want to assume and damage the compressor. Any help?

In 1994 manufacturers were ordered to switch from R12 to R134a. So every vehicle from 1995 and newer is 134a. 1994 and older is R12, unless it has been retrofitted, in which case there should be a label under the hood.

Oh, you will damage more than the compressor!
you cannot fix this yourself, Unless you have a shop that does it , (then you wouldn`t be here asking)
