If the chemistry is there, it will always be there. I would give it a go. If you don't, you will always be friends, always long for each other, it could ruin the relationships with people you are with in the mean time, you could end up resenting one another. You could even get drunk one night and make out and that could make things VERY weird. Just do the right thing by one another, the right way and you can't go wrong.

I recently liked my friend of the opposite sex and we did go out but we agreed one thing before we started anything: we'd still be friends after. It does work, trust me! Well if you're both the same sex then I don't know...
