Any advice for sleepless nights and teething and a cold AND a cough for my 7 month old daughter?

The poor little thing is waking up every two to three hours at night and getting really upset. She has always been a good sleeper and slept through the night, even when her bottom two teeth were coming through. But, for a couple of weeks now she's had a cough ( we went to the peadriatrican and she gave us some drops to help clear her throat, but only for 2 days, and explained that the mucus was in her throat not chest but to keep an eye on her) she also has a runny nose, she started nursery when she was 4 months (just the afternoons) and since then has had 3 colds! I suppose that this is normal. Anyway, now her top teeth are coming through and I think that everything is just getting her down. She has her routine through the day and at night wakes up about 2am and every couple of hours after. Sometimes she just wants nursing back to sleep and others I have to walk up an down singing for about an hour to get her calm again. She'll sleep on my shoulder, but wakes up when I put her down.

hi as a mum to 5 i know where you are coming from it can be very hard, for the cough and cold try putting karvol on a old cloth placed at a safe distance from babe, also buy a humidifier as this will put moisture back in the air where she sleeps, as the pollen levels are high at this time of year and she could be suffering from mild hay fever, as this can dry the throat causing her to cough, also if she is in a cot raise the head end up slightly as this will help to clear the nose, for the teething if you have tried the gels, try rubbing some calpol straight on to the gums, also a clean finger that you have rubbed on a ice cube works wonders,

You could raise the head of the cot a bit . i just put books under the cot feet at the top so that it was raised a bit, sounds crazy but it helped my children. The paedritrician always recommended a saline solution to rinse out their nose as they cant get rid of the mucus. I also tried homeopathic remedies with good results but you need to find a qualified pracitioner. Hope this helps.

Put a humidifier in the room that will help the illness a bit. Try some soft music to help sooth her. As for teething thats just a hard one and it is so sad to see them suffer.

    Stay strong mama!

Children are going to be sick as dogs when they go to nursery school, so just be prepared for that. Let her sleep in an upright position. I used to let my daughter sleep in her car seat. Also, before she goes to bed, let your bathroom fill up with steam (turn on the shower to hot) and put her in there for about ten minutes. But definitely if babies have colds, they need to sleep upright.

Chicken soup clears mucas from the thoat, try some lavender oil on her pillow to help her relax, she might have hayfever so take her to doctors it is very common now.

    Good Luck
