what should i study to be MD?

I'm in community college here in NY and in currently majoring in Liberal Arts because i didn't know what i want to do..I finally decided that i want to become a MD so i can go back to my poor country and provide free care for poor people. I'm thinking about transferring out senior college to pursue my career in MD. Probably something like Brooklyn College and then SUNY Down State Medical School. I want to start now ...i want to know what specific area of study or subject i should focus more..please give me some real answer. Thank you

Usually, premed students major in biology (or some form of biology) or chemistry since many of the med school prereqs would be encompassed in those majors. You can major in anything though, as long as you complete your prerequisites for med school, as well as pass the MCAT

Watch a lot of TV (specifically House and ER; not Grey's Anatomy) and learn how to live on a vending machine diet.
