I just bought this one from NewEgg.com ( http://promotions.newegg.com/NEemail/June-0-2008/P... ). Don't forget to enter Promo Code if you buy it.

A very good deal if you look at the specs:

Well we live in the real world

this is a guy going to college

    come on people

    Im a radio master,

    Laptops?

Get a alienware, ITs the best you can get yes, it's pricey, but 3,000 is the same as the mac air

You know your gonna be watching "videos"

your gonna need a good graphic card, for games, and for "videos, or just for speed"

and your not going to want a little 100gig- harddrive?

i spend 20gigs a day, on programs, and programing.... then again i do have a 4t harddrive

    but besides

    go to

    www.alienware.com

    make you own:)

    How you want;)

And make sure allways to pick up a set of speakers,

    And macs

    are **** to.

Not good for gaming, or for softwaring,

im sure your gonna ex. with programs

mac doesnt support .exe's unless you run a emulator

    how gAy?

and ever want to upgrade? hit the lotto... for the price you need to pay for a harddrive.

Ps:And i ment 3,000 if you mod it to your needings--fyi... needed

Unless you are an artist, most Universities (and programs) use Windows. WinMacs are popular (of the 7% of Mac users…5 of 7 are WinMac’ers).

    http://marketshare.hitslink.com/report.aspx?qprid=...

But for the price, Macs don’t run Windows as well as other brands. You want it to last so get 64-bit Vista Home Premium or Ultimate.

For Vista, look at the requirements…and double it at least and make sure it's certified. Triple if you can afford…then Vista should rock your socks. If you learn how to use it, Vista features and technology blows XP away…when it works. ;)

But if you have old programs, they might not work (esp. with 64-bit version). Google “vista compatibility list”. You have to know a bit about computers to get them to work (if they have problems and if there is a solution. Internet has a lot of solutions that smart people share).

Deals of America and Tech Bargains catch good deals on HP and Dell’s and sometimes you can get like $500 off!

I would agree with mjr, but not cuase they are the most bought. I would say buy one cause they are the most reliable. Macs hardly break down. PCs will give you head aches day and nite when it doesnt work. And it will break down and slow down. I own a mac and it runes faster with less RAM than a PC i own with more RAM. Ram sets the speeds mostly for the all computers. Macs also come with iLife08 wich alows tons of ease for Movie, Pics and music editing. And now awdays they are so compatible with PCs that you can network with a PC and and you even load windows OS on Macs if you need windows.

    Email if you have questions.

For students of engineering or who want to play complex games functional ones should be choosen

If you demand a computer to write article or simply relax anyone will be ok

Laptop is only a provisional game platform by the way

Since most people who answered this question have recommended Mac, I think it surely is a sound option and you can get some good exchange deal and offers from them if you buy one within this month.

Macs are the most purchased among college students, if thats any consolation...

they are good but it also depends on your needs.

    Macs are for artists

    PC's are for everyone else

PC's are more customizable too, and cost less compared to a mac.
