These are my symptoms:
tubal ligation 4 1/2 years ago
only 1-2 periods a year
hot flashes

The only 'usual' side affect from a tubal ligation is heavier than normal periods and sometimes a bit of increased pain with menses.
Have less frequent menses nd/or hot flashes is normally more related to irregualr hormone levels.
I would suggest two things
1) see a gyn and get your hormone levels tested as well as thyroid
2) there is a holisitic/natural product you can try.It is called Healthy woman and sells at Longs drugs//et all.It is a natural hormone therapy designed in china with a soy base.
You take 1 pill a day.It stimulates estrogen and I've recommended to many women either going thru menopause or having low estrogen with amazing results.
If you were to take it for several weeks with good results....Then it means it IS stimulated your estrogen production.
The choices are yours....
That said if you are planning to have children in the future..I'd recommend a gyn to get your hormones leveled.
If not I'd probably try the holisitic for a month..
