Great Depression!?
Is Another One Possible?
I mean with how the economy is going right now....
Remember Before The Great Depression happened People thought something like that couldn't happen and then they were shocked when it did.
Just like when the Titanic sank...there were people who truly believed it was Unsinkable but look what happened.
So What's your opinion?

Another great depression could not happen again exactly as it happened in the 1930s. The reasons are that a/ there are
safeguards in place in the stock market which were not
there in 1930s ie you can't buy on margin (credit) anymore
b/ there are more welfare programs available so people wouldn't starve to death as they did then c/ we are not experiencing and are unlikely to experience drastic drops in
the prices of retail items. In 1930s people were selling new Cadillacs for 25.00! That certainly isn't happening now is it?
I think there is going to be a big recession world wide and in a way I think it is going to be a good thing. People in the Western world have too much, we buy too many consumer goods, we have much bigger houses than we need, we eat way too much. We should learn to scale down our lives
someway. I read somewhere last week that in the last ten
years the average bathroom in the U.S. has increased in size by four times! How big a bathroom do you need?? I also
hope that our dependence on Arab oil is curtained greatly.
I would like to see them coming to us begging us to buy their oil rather than us begging them to sell it to us!

Very much so. The U.S. Economy is based on 15$ a barrel oil...and we have it in the $130's. I don't really care anymore, i'll just go back to hunting and fishing for food if i have to.

i looked for to long
now i am stuck scronging off the misfortunes of others
how many more poeople will have to hurt and die before we get out off this one
