Chimps can be gay, as a lot of animals. Only humans can find it's a shame (stupid and narrow minded humans I give you that).

Put two rabbits together, same sex, and watch what happens. They aren't dancing you know. It also works with guinea pigs, or rabbit+guinea pig.

My rabbit even "moves her butt" on the kitties of the neighbour.

We sure have evolved from chimps, but not about homosexuality.

Ummm -- it is often wise to actually research something before you talk about it.

Number One -- nowhere in evolutionary theory does it say we evolved FROM chimpanzees. It says that we and they had a COMMON ANCESTOR. A VERY different statement. So, prima facie -- we did not evolve from chimps, and if your statement on sexuality happened to be correct, that would change nothing therefore. However,

Number Two -- your statement on sexuality is INCORRECT. Homosexuality and bisexuality DOES in fact exist among other primate species, including bonobos -- who/which are universally bisexual. Further, we have no idea whatsoever what behavior was engaged in by the common ancestor.

    ...

What can I say? I think a simple examination of facts in regard to what you posted, solves all issues involved in your post.

    Regards,

Well actually most primates exhibit some homosexual traits, but...

No we did not evolve from chimps, chimps are a primate, and man is a primate, and both evolved from other primates if you go far back enough.

I don't believe in evolution but...

Another one is chimpanzees. Bisexuality is the norm among male chimps (check out Jane Goodall's books). Effectively a male chimp forms a long-term partnership with another male (which includes sex at times). WHen the higher-ranking of the pair challenges for leadership of the troupe, the backing of sidekick is essential. If successful, they then become nos 1 and 2 respectively in the pecking order of the troupe for access to the females, as well as food etc. But their closest relationship is with each other.

not directly. we merely share common ancestors, and i'm sure they do have homosexual traits, most mammals do. we don't know a great deal about chimps, in fact we only recently learned that they're carnivorous and pack hunters, i know if i'd been out all day catching monkeys, i'd wanna crawl into the arms of a sexy bonobo for some monkey lovin!! <<shudder>> freaked myself out there a little bit.

wow. "i don't believe in evolution...". you really are thick as clotted cream aren't you?

it's not a question of believing, it's a matter of knowing or being really, really bloody stupid!

there's enough proof for any half intelligent person to take it as law not theory.

    i don't believe in potatos/tea-cups/evolution. i KNOW about them.

i BELIEVE there is a god, but i will never be able to prove it, because that's what faith is, blind, unproven...

  • First, humans did not evolve from chimpanzees. We are both primates and are closely related but we are different species of primate.

Second, what makes you think that chimpanzees don't have homosexual behaviour like any other mammal?

Source(s): I really wish the schools in the US taught science better.

You're assuming (among many other things) that homosexuality is somehow a LOWER form of love and affection. Maybe it's a HIGHER form. It's certainly more complex and more challenging than the simple, animalistic biological urge to reproduce.

  • How much real information do you have about chimps? What are you basing your statement on.

Have you been living in a cave? Chimps/bonobos/ and apes of all sorts have portions that are homosexual.

You are incorrect- same sex mating and even long-term coupling have been observed in dozens of species, including primates. Homosexuality is a naturally- occcuring genetic variation.
