Don't worry about about a thing, that's totally normal. The first year or so for most women, your period is very irregular: sometimes being really heavy and lasting really long or being sometimes just 1 or 2 days and being almost nothing. The brown spotting is totally normal. That's what happens at the beginning and end of your period, it starts as brownish then turns red and then goes back to brownish. The brownish stuff is not so much blood as it is old uterus lining that needs to get flushed out. You're totally fine believe me, don't worry about a thing.

Have you been having sex? Unprotected? If that's not an option, if your stressed out it can make your period out of whack. If your on birth control, or diet pills, that can screw with your period as well. Also dieting and not eating enough is bad. If you've had sex and you don't start in a couple of days, like a week, I'd take a pregnancy test. They sell them real cheap now a days.

You are still in the early stages of your period. It will be unpredictable for awhile. If you are sexually active, go see your ob if you are that scared. Normally doesnt mean everything. I have had my period for over 15 years and sometimes it is light, sometimes heavy, sometimes 3 days sometimes 8. I wear pantiliners, for just in case circumstances.
I just noticed the headband in your avatar. Are you athletic? Being athletic can cause you to have little to no period.

don't be scared at all!!
you're just still irregular with your cycle. eventually it will regulate and you'll know when to expect it each month.
i've had my period for about four years and it STILL isn't regular. one month it will be heavy and short, two months later it'll be really light and long. it just depends.
i really don't think you have anything to worry about though. if you're still scared i would suggest talking to your mother about it. She's been through everthing that you have and can answer a lot of questions you may have.
good luck!!

Periods are always crazy for me too. Are you on birth control? I would say it's normal. Mine do the same thing. Here one day, gone the next.

first of all, don't stress!! its probally nothing too serious.
when i first began my period at the age of 14, it was very irregular and painful. i had cramps so bad, i stayed out of school for the first 2 days of my period each month!!
the BEST advice i can give you is to make an appointment with your Gynecologist or your local Family Planning Clinic.

It's normal for a girl your age to have a whacky period. Your body should regulate itself as you get older but you can always talk to your doctor if you are very concerned.

my period wasn't completely stable until two years after i first got it. if anything weirder happens you should see a doctor.
