Halloween wedding?

So...here's the deal. I guess I'm getting married. Which is cool. The man wants to have the wedding next Halloween. Which is fine by me. It will also be my mom's 60th B-day. Fun huh?! I'd really like people to wear costumes. But, I want them to be tasteful. (No bloody/gorey stuff...no masks...it's a wedding after all.) What do you guys think about a black and white theme? I don't wear white often. I'd like to find a dress that is black and white. Not sure if that will happen. I don't really have a question I guess. But, any suggestion/comments you may have...let me know. Thanks! =)

Update:

I thought about the masquerade theme too. Not sure if all my guests could get that kind of attire though.

You know how many you'll have showing up as BeetleJuice?

I'd go with a masks theme or something, like what Mardi Gras used to be like.

Sounds fun,why limit yourself to black and white though?Encourage the guests to go all out.Think of the pictures!Check out the Martha Stewart site for ideas.Say on the invitations no bloody,or tastless costumes. It is also a wedding,so I'm sure people would wear costumes that wouldn't be gory or anything.Have fun.

A lot of people crossdress on Halloween so for the wedding or maybe just for the party afterwards you could have the wedding in reverse, so you and your bridesmaids wear suits or tuxedos and your partner and his groomsmen wear bride and bridesmaid dresses. It would be good fun especially if you really go all out for the costumes.

I think thats pretty cool, the black and white idea sounds good. Or you could do like a Jack and Sally The Nightmare Before Christmas thing.

  • You have to check out Martha Stewart's Halloween website, it is packed with lots of tasteful Halloween decorating that looks timeless. You need some fake blood on something, it is Halloween after all. You could have Sally as your flower girl.

I love the idea of a halloween wedding! I wouldn't go with black and white tho. That's traditional. Lemme think for a bit.

    Check out this cake! http://www.letthemeatcake.net/portfolio2/cake12.jp...

    OMG please wear this dress:

Can I just come be your coordinator! That would be too much fun.

  • That sounds so cool! =) You should go all gothic, carry an all red-rose bouquet, how exciting!!! And your dress sounds cool, have one made!
