Flight itinerary - Japanese visa requirement?
I am getting a visa for Japan but they are asking me to provide a printout of flight itinerary, yet they told me not to buy the ticket until I get the visa. I called Triple A travel agency about this and they told me that the only way I could get an itinerary is if I've already booked a ticket.
How do I get a flight itinerary without buying plane ticket? Can you provide some tips? Thank you!
Yes, I am going as a tourist.

You can make a schedule note by yourself. It is OK to be just a rough itinery not fixed.
For instance

In addition, you attach some kind of copy of flight reservation issued by travel agency(this is just reservation confirmation and not real receipt necessary. You can ask them only for copy with your name on.)
Wish it might help you.

If you have a united states passport, you'll automatically get a 90 -day tourist visa in Japan when you enter through customs. There is no need to file for a visa, or give itinerary.
If you do not have a united states passport, and this is what they're telling you, you should probably call them and get clarification as to the flight itinerary requirement.
You cannot get an itinerary without having purchased the flight ticket. Itinerary basically says when your flight is, where it is, when it is expected to land and where, what airline you are on, etc + the return details.

Getting your travel itinerary printed out is easy enough. All you have to do is book the ticket (this is NOT the same as actually buying or paying for the ticket).

If you are visiting Japan then you might be asked to show your itinerary to their immigration. BTW, I have never heard of showing it when leaving a country.

I don't think you can get that without purchasing a ticket. But I don't see why you are getting a visa in the first place. You don't need one. A Visa is when you want to actually live there, to study or work.

Are you a US citizen? If so, there is no need for a visa to travel to Japan. Tourists can enter Japan for 90 days (I believe) without any additional documentation.
