why in the state of Texas does the workers preparing your food not required by law to wear plastic gloves.?

a freuind of mine complained about a worker handaling raw meat than touching other food in a fast food resturant. when he asked the managetr about it she just blew him off. so he called burger king head office and they told him that in texas they are not requried to wear plastic gloves while perpareing food. so he called the drug and food office and they told him that texas and one other state does not makes thw workers wear gloves. why woul texas not require you to wear gloves. all i can think about is the dirty hands of all the fst food workers touching my food with all kindfs of germs and bacteria on their hands. what do you think about not wearing gloves? how can we stop this?

Chefs do not wear gloves when cooking in resturants. Instead, they put their fingers in soups, sauces, etc. and actually taste the food. Why? Because it's easier to tell if you've cooked things properly if you can feel and taste the food.

I worked in a Deli over the summer, and I can tell you that wearing gloves basically did nothing. Half the time, my hands were probably cleaner than the gloves, and it was much easier to handle/serve customers without them.

Working in food, you have to deal with strict health regulations, but wearing gloves doesn't solve any problems. It's simply aggravating and silly. A quick couple of seconds at the sink serves the exact same purpose, and the end result is faster, happier, and better service to the customer.

we don't require that you wear gloves, but we do require that you wash your hands and not cross contaminate. Many places wear the gloves anyway.
