What's the scariest book you've ever read?

The scariest book I've read that could never happen is Darkfall by Dean Koontz.

The scariest book I've read that could happen is Intensity also by Dean Koontz.

The Stand by Stephen King--it is terrifying because it literally could happen in real life at any time----the germs are available and could get out deliberately or by accident--and some already have.

Dean Koontz is great, I read close to 30 of his books. But then I found Richard Laymon, and he is SO Much better than Koontz.

    Try "Body Rides"

Really, almost ALL of his stuff is good.

"Intensity" was creepy. I would say the scariest book I've ever read is Stephen King's "It". Hadn't been scared by a book before, and haven't been since.

"IT" by Stephen King- hands down. I love Koontz, but "IT" was definitely the scariest book. Lame movie, though.

I am a longtime fan of scary movies. Most of them don't even make me flinch. But I read one book that actually gave me nightmares! That was Salem's Lot by Stephen King.

It's been a very long time since I read it, but I still remember how scared I got reading 'The Amityville Horror'.
