yea, just make sure that you're contacts are saved to the phone (just make sure they are also saved to the SIM unless your phone ever breaks). you can do this by copying all your SIM contacts to your phone. and when you look at your contact list, make sure you're viewing the contacts that are saved in your phone. then you can edit them and assign different ringtones to different people.

Make sure all the contracts are saved to the phone first. Then go to edit a contract and see if you can add a personal ringtone to the contact. If not, then you may have to make groups in order to apply ringtones to contacts. Example: Make a group called Family. Then add 6 names to it. Apply a ringtone to that group. Save it. Now when those people call you or text you that are in that group, you will hear that ringtone that is applied to that group.
