I check my email regularly - weekends, holidays, summer, etc. However, I don't check as often during long holidays or the summer time - simply because there aren't as many emails coming through. I would think that most teachers do check in, just don't expect an immediate response necessarily. Summer vacation has just begun! Chances are, your teacher is still doing some work finishing up this year or setting up the basics for next year, now's a good time to email!

I am a teacher and this is what I do.

I dont check my school email at all during the summer, after all it's summer and I dont want to hear from other teachers, parents and school related things.

I give out a summer packet and kids usually have questions so I give their parents my regular email which a check every week or 2 and if they really have a big question I will respond.

Every teacher has there own way of doing things, I have a very good friend who teaches a grade below me and has no children of her own so she checks her school email daily year round including summer. I would try to email her/him and if she responds thats great, but if not dont think he/she is not listening he/she probably just doesnt check their email during the summer.

Some school districts have their email set up so that you have to be on their intranet to access school email...meaning...they won't be able to check it at home. Try emailing and if no response call the school and ask them if they will forward a message for you. This said...I check my work email daily during the summer. I can access it from the internet.

If they check their email during class, I guess they will check it during summer vacation.

I do! But then again, I know teachers that don't check it during the school year!

Most teachers I work with are teachers 24/7 - we work all summer cleaning our rooms, redecorating, writing new unit/lesson plans, etc. I'd say "yes" to your question

It depends...my mom does and she a teacher but its gonna have more to do with your teacher. They do get e-mails from their boss' and things about the school year so more then likely they'll check it

I'm one of those that can't get to my school email over the summer, but my kids can still get in touch with me. Call the school if you can't get a hold of her.

I think it depends on the teacher. One of mine checks it every few days and another rarely goes online. Good luck, hope she replies soon!
