What is a good first pet?
We have tried fish, sadly that didnt work to well for us. I am looking for something easy to take care of and something tame. This is for my 2 and a half yr old. We have 3 dogs so please dont say a dog. I want something small he can put in his own room. I thougt hamsters and things like that, but i am afraid if it bites him he will be scared of them after that. Anyone know of a good little pet for a little boy?

Yeah, I agree that turtle might be a good solution. Or a budgie! They're really cute and wouldn't bite if you tame them! Plus they're super good with little kids.
Well, I really don't suggest a cat, since some can be VERY fierce and might scratch your child. But hamsters are okay, I think. They won't bite if you treat it well.

A bird.
Theyre really good.
Not too much work (excpet for not letting it fly away) and they are super super loveable and fun.
Almost all of the kids I know including myself and my sister, had a pet bird while we lived in apartments. It was a really great experience and now that I'm older and have a dog I miss birds.
A parakeet was the one we all got.
It's really easy.
Good luck.
Hope I helped.
