when are you suppose to take driver's ed?

before you get your permit, or after?

i'm in california, if that matters.

    In California, you have to take the driver's ed class(sitting in the classroom) before you can get your permit. at least i did. Then before you can get your license, you have to have at least 6 hours of behind the wheel training with an instructor.

    Either one should be fine. Finish the course before you go for you permanent license and it will help on your insurance rate.

    Get your permit.

    Get driver's ed.

    Take the road test.

    As simple as that.
