I get a peculiar symptom in my eye: field of vision,?
internally; it starts as a small bright spot near the centre and grows to a large crescent shaped bright area always crescent shaped filling about 15-20% of my vision field, with geometric designs inside it (criss-crossing lines forming rectangels/triangles), all shining. It comes once in every 2 - 3 (now lately 6) months. Typically it lasts for about half an or so and disappears. No particular time in the day, but it occurs generally towards late afternoor or evening. No head ache or 'aura' or any other strange symptom along with it. I have recovered from a heart attack nearly 2 years ago and still taking medications for it. Also 2 stents. The first episode came on when 2 years ago, during the heart attack, when I was in the ICCU. Could it be some medication triggered phenomena or something now and then pressing the optic lobe? What is it?

I think three consultations makes it unanamous. Go see your doctor. Tell him as exactly as possible of the symptoms you are having.
Best wishes for you.

Your symptoms are compatible with Optic or Retrobulbar Neuritis and you should see an Ophthalmologist ASAP. If you cannot get an appointment as an urgency, go to a hospital ER, preferably one with an Ophthalmology Department

I would agree with the previous response, make an appointment with your Doctor to discuss your complaint, he will then refer you to the appropriate departments to have the matter investigated further.
Good Luck
