Robin is the son Batman will never have. It's a family bond, not a lover's bond. Besides, Robin suppose to still be a teenager. Now way would the JLA let a phedophile in the League. FYI, schenzy. The name the person that asked this question is in reference to is a street magicain, not the actor who played Robin in the Batman Forever and Batman and Robin movies.

I think Robin was meant to be a young teenager, maybe 13 or 14. He was called Bruce Wayne's ward, which means Wayne was like a guardian for him. I don't believe he is gay, he just serves as Batman's assistant in fighting crime. It's a shame he has to be labeled in any way since he's supposed to be a source of protection for the people of Gotham City.

There were actually three Robins, and none of them were gay in canon.
The first Robin, Dick Grayson, was the one that is usually interpreted as gay, because he was the closest to Batman, the youngest one, the pretty one and wore frigging panties.
The writers all have said that they didn't write them as gay.
Devin Grayson (A writer) said "It depends who you ask, doesn't it? Since you're asking me, I'll say no, I don't think he is ... I certainly understand the gay readings, though".
Burt Ward (The dude who played Robin in the 1960's) said,
"The relationship could be interpreted as a sexual one, with the show's double entendres and lavish camp also possibly offering ambiguous interpretation."
I don't remember who said this, but I remember it was one of the Golden Age writers. "We don't explicitly state that they have romantic relations in the comic, but rather leave it up to the readers to decide. A great mystery of sorts. And just to note, had this happened in real life, there is no doubt in my mind that they would be together."
But I digress.
There was a guy named Dr. Fredric Wertham who went and wrote a book about Batman and Robin being gay called 'Seduction of the Innocent.' It attacked comics that had a possible insinuation of anything un-wholesome. (Such as screwing your ward.) The guy was a total prude, he seriously needed to get laid. Anyway, yeah.
It's like a classic mystery thing, but they're classified as being straight.

Since he's a fictional character and not a person, that means that it's up to the creator. Whatever he says goes. If the original creator of Batman did not say that Robin is gay, then he's not.

They were both gay as bats.
Did you see Batman get involved with women to the point of sex?
And Robin jerked a lot on his bosses picture
The fact they had a butler makes it all clear:no women in the house:ever.

Robin had the hots for Batman and tried to persuade him, but Batman was straight so Robin ended up hooking up with Aquaman...don't ask me how they did it underwater.

The whole of the 60's TV series was gay-er than a pink poodle, recent film version not so much.

You do have to wonder about a guy who dresses in costumes and takes a teenaged boy under his wing. Not that there's anything wrong with being gay...
