I swear to god that was one of the worst movies i've ever seen. I think the studio should claim responsibility for putting out such crap and refund our Mother*ucking money back and for the popcorn. I was just waiting for an Al Gore plug at the end of the movie.......I wouldn't even rent it

Hah, I like the faces of death bit----that was what I was thinking with the lion attack scene. But yeah. I'm a big fan of his too and am almost offended at how useless this movie was. Although someone else started a question about the "best" bad dialogue in the movie.....and I have to admit, that did make for some humor.

Yes. A friend asked me to go to the movies on Saturday night. I didn't ask any questions--I didn't know what I was going to see, just that I was going to sit in a theater for 2 hours with this person.

2 hours of badly acted meaningless, shock-value horror courtesy M. Shyamalam Knight (written, directed, and produced by him and probably also [badly] edited by him). The Sixth Sense was great, but since then . . . he needs to find another way to make living--or at least get a bunch or professional cowriters and editors and camera men and art directors in there to finesse his creative brain farts. The whole film is clips of graphic, squeamish, can't look, spur-of-the-moment ways people, in large groups, can kill themselves (not each other) while Mark Wahlberg and a wife--an actress who looks like she's 14 years old--try to outrun the wind that is making people kill themselves. For comic relief that doesn't work the couple make "cute" banter about infidelity every once in a while. It was completely pointless, just pointlessly sick and violent with images that you don't want in your head.

Before the movie started, it had 20 minutes of trailers--all action/horror movies--one worse than the other. I was thinking: millions of dollars are spent making these movies. WTF! Are regular people that retarded that this is what the entertainment industry spoon feeds them? I was also thinking about the thousands of people out there who are making films, writing screen plays, writing novels, and making art and music and have something really interesting and dynamic and thoughtful to offer and they're hard pressed to get any recognition for it. That point is far more scary than any triple B-rate horror flick.

Edit: And if you were exposed to a lethal neurotoxin (in accordance with the movie's premise), you wouldn't robotically commit suicide in some methodical way, you would quickly experience excruciating pain and paralysis and loss of all body function, and you would die. (And only industrial genetically engineered bees are disappearing, supposedly.)

"Are regular people that retarded that this is what the entertainment industry spoon feeds them?"

Apparently yes. If M Night is allowed to make movies, I have no choice but to say OF COURSE.

Whoever liked The Happening probably has a learning disability.

A toxin that makes your brain think to kill yourself? Yeah that makes much more sense than a toxin that just kills you right off. I'm sure the plants did that on purpose for shock value right M Night? No? You did that? Because your an idiot? Oh, because you think we're idiots. Thought so.

One of the worst, pathetic movies I've ever seen! Truly laughable and stupid. So many stupid things in this movie to list. The worst was the Army guy freaking out.

    Very, very poor movie!

He has really gone down. I mean the Sixth Sense was obviously his best and every since then it has been a trail of movies that descend in quality with each new picture.

I was very disappointed. The trailer for this movie looked phenomenal. And the movie itself started strong, but fizzled out.
