If by crisis you mean shortage - no way there is no crisis. Government probably has underhanded deal going on with oil companies. We have oil right here in the United States that we actually export to other countries. We have reserves for crises that have yet to be tapped into. It is true that we don't drill enough oil or refine enough oil here in the United States, but nothing justifies this "shortage" or price jump. It's stupid people running our country into BIG trouble.

There is not an oil crisis, in my opinion. Obviously, countries in the middle east, and south american countries, not all, but .. are blessed with oil resources.
What is the most basic, foundational concept of economics? It is supply and demand. Countries holding oil resources know & understand it very well ;-) Thus, we have price fluctuations. It is not the case that oil is running out or anything, it's just right now messing with pricing is convenient and is 'allowed', since we still have reached that equilibrium where as consumers we're not willing to pay for it anymore.

crisis crock. there is a greed crisis which everyone in a position to do something about is either afraid of ridicule or afraid of losing their own wealth as they too are all tied into oil. the oil crisis is simply the high price we must pay (and comparing american usage to foreign countries is in-accurate due to americas lack of an adequate transportation system ((lack of sufficient buses, rail, subway, and train system in comparison to foreign nations)) also things are spread out much farther here in the us requiring more driving than other nations)). A good comparison would show that though oil in america is cheaper, our usage affects our pocketbooks which affects the world economy far more than the other nations)). Dummies fail to realize that. and that is what is driving the high costs.

No I never believed that. And I never believed in a global warming crisis either. Nor in a housing crisis. Nor in any of the other mass media driven crisis.
