Xbox 360 problem?
Is it normal for your Xbox 360 to heat up a room? I've had it since Christmas and it's always been that way. I mean you can even feel it down the hall. I bought a custom fan that goes under it but doesn't help with the heating problem. The Xbox itself really isn't hot or anything. Is this a problem or is it normal?
You know it might just be my TV. It''s kind of large, flat screen and when you turn it off it makes a fan like noise like it's cooling itself down. Thanks for the input!

it is weird that the Xbox would heat up a room and the hall, but if the Xbox itself isn't heating up then you shouldn't worry about the console breaking down or anything. I would take it back to where you bought it and talk to them about it. The Xbox could have an interior problem that doesn't effect playing, but heats up its surroundings. Hope this helps :)

Yes, it seem the the Xbox does get pretty hot and it can heat up a whole room however, it is not good for a the box to get too hot as just like a laptop, you need to keep it cool. Open a window or better yet, put a small fan aimed at the box to keep it cool, so it doesn't over heat

Most machinery such as televisions and computers generally heat up your room! it could be your television!? or are there any other electronics in your room that could possibly heat it up? if its just your xbox it could be you may be playing it too much! I do notice after playing my 360 after a long period of time my room also heats up! so open a window or purhaps stop playing and let it cool down!! also it would be wise to unplug the power supply chord out of the socket to reduce the risk of fire!!
I hope any of this made sense! lol thanks!

You can get a wireless adapter for the xbox, but that's expensive (around 100$). Another option, is connecting a laptop to the xbox and using it as a wireless adapter with ICS (internet connection sharing) - search youtube for it if you are interested in that. Another option can be using a switch, which is like a "station" for the cable, where you can connect another cable from it to your computer, but buying a longer ethernet cable is more simple - you can get one in any normal computer / gamers store.

Its Normal, but if you bought one of those inter cooler things at like gamestop or some store like that then return it because those make it hotter. To fix it get a regular fan and place it right in front of it and make sure it to have it in an open area

Depends on the circulation in the room, a small room with little circulation will typically heat up with it running

**********Mine doesn't do that, had it since they first come out, best idea is to get a house fan and put behind it where the cables are plugged in, WATCH OUT the the "3 red rings of death", that will show up on the screen, then your Xbox is a goner go to for more info. and technical problems, with overheating http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xbox_360_technical_pr...

depends on circulation of room..
but you shouldnt leave it on when youre not playing it...
if you turn it off FULLY when ever possible youll see a great change in the heat of the room!
