The wireless Internet on my Dell laptop is not working, but another laptop's wireless internet will work.?
What might be wrong? I had it connected to my wireless Internet and then one day it stopped. I connected another laptop to my internet and it worked perfectly. A computer guy said that there might not be enough memory (there is very little) and I should delete things off my computer so the Internet will work. I even tried connecting the laptop directly into the phone/dsl jack and it still didn't work. Please give some suggestions and tell if you think not having enough memory would be a problem.
Okay I have deleted around 3GB of memory and it still doesn't work is this enough memory? I also bought 4GB of memory to have put on there.
Also, when I check for wireless connections, it shows there are none.

Look on the side of the laptop fot a switch with a tower image. Is should have the following options "0, 1, >>" put the switch to >> the release, it will drop back to 1.
If this is not the issue, you can troubleshoot on the Dell site.

Don't use the switch, set it up as a permanent connection. Open Menus, network connections. Open properties for the wireless and enable the wireless and click apply or OK. Close the menu and reboot. Laptops are not set by default for a permanent connection, they will see a wireless connection, they will connect with it but only in limited activity. You will have connections and you will lose connections because it is not a permanent connection. This is not common known knowledge. If this doesn't resolve the issue consider other things like the wireless hardware drivers, then the external devices last.

Memory is not at all an issue here .. :) .. it doesn't matter if you have 100 MB free or 10 GB .. the same story with the ram . . it is your wireless adapter .. try checking if it is turned on . . if it is then go to dells website and go to the drivers section identify your laptop and then download the proper wireless drivers .. :) that should do it .. of not .. try purchasing an external wireless adapter .. :)

If you have internal wireless capabilities they may have been turned off accidentally. Check your manual (or internet) to see how to turn on your wireless capabilities. Or if you are using a network card make sure it is enabled. I hope this helps!
