Texting from Mexico to USA?
I got my phone in the USA and I am visiting Mexico. My texting plan gives me 250 a month. The person I want to text is also in the US and has a similar plan. My cell says "roaming" right now, I'm in Tijuana. So if we both have phones from the US, but I'm in Mexico, can I text her in the US normally or will I get some crazy charges?
I've already texted her a few times and did not have to dial any special numbers. I have verizon but not sure what she has.
Thanks

You will get some crazy charges for international roaming. Sky high unless your plans says you get low rates in Mexico! Turn your phone off unless you need for extreme emergency. Or log onto Verizon web site and see what international roaming rates are in Mexico for your plan.
Since you are at a computer, you can send text messages to her verizon phone from any computer email:
phone#@vtext.com
Or you can log onto the Verizon web site and send text messages from there for free.
Here are some web sites with lists for sending text messages to other phones from email if you know who they have service with:
text message, email by carrier

When we were in Mexico by Cancun, we could text and had to dial a special code to get to the US but it was possible. Texting to/from Mexico didn't cost my friends any extra, but was not included in those "unlimited" texts. Unfortunately, it was about 80 cents per text, so be careful. I'm on Verizon and that was back in January.
