rescue staffy mix... would i be a good home?
i've been looking for a pit bull for some time and i found a staffy mix at a local rescue that needs a home. he's 1 1/2 old bridle and white (which i'm partial to) but i want to make sure i could provide a good home for him. he's been temperment tested with kids (i dont have any), animals (gets along great with all animals), and people. he would be the only dog and would be inside and outside with supervision. i have a 6 foot fenced yard and he would never be let off leash outside the fence. i've been pre-approved to get the dog if i want him. i really like him but want to make sure i can give him the best home! i've had other dogs in the past (chihuahuas, doxies, coc*** spaniels, bassett hounds, beagles, mutts) so this wouldnt be my first dog, but it would be my first bully breed

Bully breeds are wonderful breeds if you know them. I would recommend getting a few books and reading them first and know that you are ready for people to criticize you cuz they will. And if all is well, get him, but I would do research on pitbulls first because they are not just like any other dog.

American Staffordshire terriers aren't agressive unless they are trained to be that way... A six foot fence would certainly keep him within the yard, but remember to exercise him daily. You don't need to be afraid of him as AmStaf's are regarded as loving and quiet dogs. Just make sure you are strong enough to handle him and that he is properly trained (to not jump on people and so forth). Other than that, a loving home is all he sounds like he needs.

I would say adopt him! They USUALLY are very active dogs so as long as he can get out and stretch his legs sounds like you'd be a good pet for him! I own 2 bully babies, one of which is a AmStaffy/rott mix and he's the best dog we've ever owned. Very smart and loyal, just a big baby =] Hope everything works out and you'll be able to rescue the lil fur baby!
