Ever wonder what happened to the 56 Men who ?

signed the Declaration of Independence?

    I remembered when I first learned about the horrorible fates of the men who gave up everything so we could be free...

    I remember thinking, "Do we have anybody around like that today?" This was quite a few years ago, so my first thought was NO. Certainly not any people in our federal government. But, obviously, I was wrong.

    There was this one little guy all along. I had never heard of him, except briefly during the 1988 presidential election. But, there he was... a lone voice in the fight for freedom in our Congress. Eating lunch alone every day, laughed at and pretty much ignored... but he never gave up. Even when he was the lone "NO" vote in Congress, he always stood up for his principles... and our freedom.

    Ron Paul.

    And now, finally, after 30 years of being the lone voice of reason and liberty in our Congress... people are finally beginning to pay attention. He captured the hearts, and the votes, of over a million liberty-lovers this campaign... even without the blessing of the corporate media.

    Ron Paul is a true stateman. Just like the Founding Fathers. They realize that men are given certain rights by their Creator, not by their government, and that we always have to fight to protect these rights else oppression and tyranny will be the result.

    From the Declaration of Independence:

    "That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness. Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shewn, that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security."

    Our country is falling into tyranny. We cannot allow this to happen. We, the people who understand true freedom, must wake everyone else up to the fact that we aren't a free country any longer. We must make a stand and do everything we can to make a difference... educate ourselves, sign petitions, protest, vote for the right candidates, give money to the right causes... we must fight for our freedom just like the Founding Fathers did so long ago.

    In the period of history where the Declaration of Independence was signed, it was not uncommon for unusual and often bad things to happen to people. There weren't the medical advances in existence back then that we have today. Life spans were considerably shorter. Even if these 56 brilliant men had not signed the Declaration of Independence, chances are in those days they would still have met with a bad fate.

    Considring the condition our country is in, it's very sickening to read, learn, and think about all of those who sarificed their lives for the better of this country. Especially when there are people out there voting for a candidate simply because he will increase their welfare check (handout), or government wages.

    Then we have the anti American Global Warming Socialists. If they want to practice their religion,(this is a religion, as half of their science is junk science) and not make a carbon footprint, it is their freedom to do so. Forcing me to do so by legally quagmiring our resources is Communism!

    I had a distant family member who died in the Alamo.

    I wonder what those who died in the Alamo would think of a 'virtual fence?'

    If our politicians were politicians back then, how many do you think would be hanged, or shot for treason? I am thinking most all of them.

    History tends to repeat itself. I don't quite know if an uprising could turn into a civil war with the UN, and our own troops to subdue it, but I do expect it to happen before we become a state of the New World Order.

    I do believe the whole reason for our war with the 'Axis of Evil' is nothing more than subduing rogue (sovgern) nations, and paving the way for a one world government. If I'm right, we will be fighting Iran soon. We kicked England's a** for doing this to us, and now were doing this to other countries.

    I think we will get to the brink with our next president elect- either one of the two.

    Even then we still rebut the evil rule of the crown, but so few people will fail to wake up and see this until the deed is done and rule is once again established on a much higher level , far from muskets and mean cannon fire, but with lack of food, fuel, jobs, high taxes, loss of liberties and in the end we will all leave huge debts for our children to endure even more as the gluttonous debt of slavery works its evil ways back into a structured society , not based on color or religion or personal beliefs , but mearly to control. These people died with Integrity and Honor. Something you will never find in a so called American education system taught to our children.

    I wonder if they would have made the ultimate sacrifice for the ungrateful sheeple who dishonor their memory by allowing corporations run this country? About fifty years after their sacrifice a well known patriot made the following observation. This was a man of vision and integrity. Why are politicians such as this no longer available?

    "I see in the near future a crisis approaching that unnerves me...and causes me to tremble for the safety of my country....Corporations have been enthroned ...an era of corruption in high places will follow...and the money power of the country will endeavor to prolong its reign by working on the prejudices of the people...until the wealth is aggregated in a few hands...and the republic is destroyed."

    Great link cookie, It only raises the question, Why are our Representatives acting this way? Overspending, Lobbyists, and every scandal from Left to Right. While our great heroes worked for free! and even worse, risked their life, to give congressmen, and senate the right to act this way. I am so frustrated right now because it just doesn't make any sense, and the public is still voting for them.

    This makes it even harder to deal with the fact that all of what our founders fought for has been pissed upon by our so called "representatives" in Washington.
