credit question?
on my credit report a credit card company that I am in good standing with is reporting a credit card that I did not recieve from them against me. what happened was the first card that was sent in the mail was never recieved and when I call the company back and explained a new card was sent to me and that is the one in good standing. should I ask them to remove the one that was lost from my report.
no it states right on the report that card was lost or stole and does not have any charges associates with it, and gives no data. but is this still a negative on my report?

I'm not sure what you mean by "reporting it against you"...Are they just showing it as open? Or is it showing a balance that was unpaid? If they are just showing it as open, then it shouldn't have any negative impact on your credit. Having more than one credit card is totally fine...especially if it doesn't have a balance - this actually looks good....so I'm not sure what "against you" means in this instance. Now, if it was stolen, and used, then you have a different issue. Either way, yes, you should all the credit card company and just tell them that you would like the card closed. (You always want it to show "closed by consumer"...)

it sounds like you have been taken by identity theft. If you opened a card, and it was never sent, you should immediately be suspicious. Call the bank you opened it with, tell them you suspect identity theft, and do what they tell you. All the person stealing your identity had to do was give the card company your new [their FAKE] address, and have the card sent there. They activate it, sign their name, and take YOUR money out of YOUR real bank account. Have your bank close out the credit card account. Identity theft is the fastest growing crime IN America. Once you have closed out that credit card, contact the credit report companies, and tell them you were a victim of identity theft. I went through almost the same thing as you, so I know what I'm talking about. Good luck, and from now on, be VERY careful. Just the fact that you have good credit alone, is enough for thieves to target you.
