where would i find an obituary for my friend david chavez and he died in 1999.?
i found a little bit info but i can not locate the obitury for him. i wanted to put a copy into a scrapbook...

you can google obituaries for the city,state where he lived. it will take you to the obits for that city, then just put in his name and the year he died. i did that same thing a few weeks ago and it worked just fine. hope it helps you.

Alot of libraries keep the local paper on micro film for many years. Ask the librarian to help you locate the obit; it will save you alot of time. My uncle just did the same thing last year to find an article from 20 years ago.

Try the local newspaper of the town he grew up in, or the town he was buried in. Newspapers usually keep rather extensive archives and they should be able to get a copy for you for just a few dollars.
you could also ask the funeral home that handled his service. they could tell you more specifically and may still have a copy of it.
