That's awful! I loved George Carlin! Here is a good quote from him:
"I think it's the duty of the comedian to find out where the line is drawn and cross it deliberately."
I believe there was no one who crossed that line better than he did.

I saw him in the 80's once, he even joked about his health problems. He said, " I'm ahead of Pryor, I've had 3 heart attacks, Pryor's had two, but he's ahead of me on setting yourself on fire." I used to love his look at language, a lot of our words don't make a lot of sense, I can see how foriegners could be confused by English.

I just woke to the news :(
saw him in concert in Atlantic City...his play on words..amazing!!
His list of 7 words had grown and he proudly recited everyone!!
The sun will be a little less brighter for me today.

Yes, I'm really sad about that. He made the world smile and that's more than a lot of people can say. I'll miss his humor.

With all the "seven words", going on down here on earth God needed a good laugh in heaven:) May he rest in peace. I miss you already George!!!!!

One of my favorite Carlin bits ever. "The weather will continue to change off and on for a very long time."

yeah what a drag he was a funny guy, and smart as hell. I heard him on MPR a while back and he was challenging us, as a culture about the softening of our language. Brilliant stuff.

I did. First thing this morning.
Have been switching between laughing and mourning all day...
Intelligent comedy..far too few of that left today.

Yes, and I'm truly saddened.
I base my more sarcastic humor on George's brilliant wit.
I'd count him among my few heroes.
