In a way, poverty is a disease which can be cured if proper action or step is being taken in time to stop or alleviate the poverty in ones life.

Also, it can be inherited if care is not taken and if the root cause of poverty is not recognized, and if drastic action is not taken to fight against it.

Many people from a very poor home are very rich today due to their early recognition and back-up with hard work or research, and take it upon them selves to stop the poverty in their life and make a change by all possible means - either by reading, doing all sort of job, etc. just to realize their dream of becoming rich.

Unlike some countries where government come to the aid of people but in African, you are left alone to work it out yourself.

If you're being satirical, then both your optional answers are plausible. Poverty is a social construct. If by inherited, you mean that the environment people are born into contributes to the conditions, then yes, you can say it is inherited, although, that's an odd term to use. Poverty can be overcome in many ways, including global relief efforts, or even local efforts, to help alleviate some of the macabre conditions. The best way to overcome poverty is to provide assistance in the form of Workfare, and not welfare. Welfare causes dependency, and is a cause of long term poverty, for people become so dependent, they can no longer work on their own, and therefore, suffer when they are cut off from assistance.

    (1) pick an area to work on such as your bedroom. Take everything out except the bare necessities. Store everything else somewhere such as an attic or basement. Throw away whatever you can while you are doing this.(2) Clean you bedroom & think of how to make it a nice peaceful haven.(3) Don't bring anything new into this area. (4) after a while you will see it is nice to have simplifed (5) set an appointment that works for you such as Monday at 6-7 Pm & go through one of your boxes (6) throw away everything you can (6) if you hear yourself saying "I might need it someday" say "& I know that when I do I will have enough money to buy a new one & that will be fun" Keep telling yourself this but most of all tell yourself " I have everything I need" & "whenever I need anything it comes to me with ease". (7) Start loving how nice & clean your life is in your bedroom & be willing to take on another area (8) a person has to maintain the area so periodically weed the area out if anything ends up in there somehow (9) take another area & do the same thing (10) read everything you can about clutter so you can become an expert at the subject & don't get upset if you have any setbacks, you might have some deep seated beliefs that need to be changed

Poverty is very bad as it brings hardships to life which no one can even imagine. At this juncture of time, its everyone's responsibility to help the needy. I heard that The United Nations have launched a campaign to end poverty by 2015. The campaign revolves around 8 major goals which would ensure eradication of poverty. The campaign also has a community http://www.orkut.co.in/Community.aspx?cmm=47234928 .
