I am not sure but i know it is a lot. My freind went to school to be a Dental Assistant and she is over 10,000 in the whole.

I don't know about California but in Texas most nursing homes will pay you to go through the class in the facility and will give you your certification upon completion of the class because there is such a shortage of aids. Of course you have to agree to work there for a certain amount of time. 15 years ago I paid $60.00 to take the class at a local community college because I wanted to work in a hospital and not a nursing home. I'm sure the price has gone up but I can't imagine it would be over $200.00. Hope this helps!

My friend became a CNA and it only costs about $300 for a four to six week course with testing at the end. She makes approximately $12.50 per hour.
