During the Civil War would a soldier ever belong to a regiment from a different state?
I'm trying to research my family on Ancestry.com. I think I've found military records for him but I'm not sure because he was from Virginia, but the only records I can find are regiments out of Kentucky. It's the right name and the right birthdate, but wrong state.
3 AnswersGenealogy6 years agoMy daughter's basketball shoes smell terrible, how do I clean them?
They were pretty expensive so I don't want to ruin them by throwing them in the wash. They're Nikes, any suggestions would be appreciated.
6 AnswersCleaning & Laundry8 years agoI need a good recipe for a light summer appetizer?
I'm hosting a small get together in June and need a good light summer appetizer. Nothing too heavy or warm, and different but not something people would be apprehensive about eating lol! Any suggestions will be appreciated!
7 AnswersEntertaining9 years agoWhat song was performed during the Bachelorette party scene in Mamma Mia?
My daughter wants this song played for her Sweet 16 party entrance but I can't remember what it is!
2 AnswersOther - Music10 years agoI switched my dog to a better quality food but didn't have any of the old food left to transition her slowly?
What should I expect in terms of a reaction? They basically have the same ingredients and her old food only came in the huge 20 lb bags so I didn't want to buy another huge bag just to transition her with. She's been having a lot of skin irritation and is scratching constantly; we treat her with Frontline regularly we were thinking it might ber her food.
5 AnswersDogs10 years agoI heard from a groomer that safflower oil helps with shedding?
Our Golden sheds terribly and I was thinking of trying this. She said to add one cooked egg and safflower oil to the food. Has anyone tried this, and if so did it help? and how much oil? I forgot to ask her that.
4 AnswersDogs1 decade agoI didn't see the plastic soaker pad on my roast and cooked it. Will it ruin the meat?
I didn't see it and cooked it for about two hours on high in my slow cooker. The meat still had about 3 hours to cook so I'm hoping I caught it in time.
5 AnswersCooking & Recipes1 decade agoWhat would settle my Chihuahua's upset stomach?
Our sweet girl jumped up on the table last night before I had completely cleared the table off and ate leftover food out of our bowls. She is so quick! It was a macaroni meat sauce that consists of pasta, ground beef, tomato soup and Velveeta. Now she has terrible diarrhea. I was thinking of making a mixture of plain white rice and a little bit of scrambled egg to get some nourishment in her; I thought it would be bland enough not to upset her tummy anymore than it already is. Would this help or should I completely remove food for the whole day?
6 AnswersDogs1 decade agoDo women not wear lipstick anymore? Is it okay for the over 30 crowd?
I went out with my husband last night so I put on make-up, and of course as usual pulled out my very bright plum colored lipstick. I rarely wear make-up, the last time I wore it regularly would have been pre-kid era which was the mid 90's. Last night I noticed that none of the other women had lipstick on. Is this some sort of trend? I went in the bathroom and wiped it off lol!
9 AnswersMakeup1 decade agoWe adopted a stray cat over 3 months ago and my other two cats still won't accept him?
We had a male and a female, both under 5 years old, then adopted a 3rd male stray. Everyone is spayed/neutered and there is plenty of food to go around. They each have their own litter box so what is there to fight over? I have a strict indoor kitty policy, no cat of mine will be outside so it's quite annoying to have growling yowling kitties at all hours. Why won't they accept him and is there anything we can do to help it along?
4 AnswersCats1 decade agoI quit smoking almost 4 weeks ago but I still am not sleeping through the night?
Either I can't fall asleep until 2 am or I fall asleep and wake up at 2am and can't go back to sleep. How long does this last? I read 2-4 weeks but I'm almost at 4 weeks and it doesn't seem to be getting any better. Needless to say I am cranky and exhausted! Also I am having a lot of lower back pain, is this some kind of withdrawal symptom?
2 AnswersOther - General Health Care1 decade agoWas the final installment in the hunger games series, Mockingjay, good?
I was a little disappointed in the ending. I'm glad Katniss and Peeta ended up together and had kids but it was so depressing. I was really hoping for a more positive ending. Any opinions?
10 AnswersBooks & Authors1 decade agoI have an open bottle of Merlot from over 3 months ago. Can I use it to cook with?
I know that drinking it is not a good idea but is it too old to cook with?
4 AnswersBeer, Wine & Spirits1 decade agoI just went outside and noticed that my tomatoes have late blight. Can the unaffected tomatoes be salvaged?
Can I wash them really well and let them continue to ripen off the bush or is it that since the bushes already have it the tomatoes will develop the black spots?
2 AnswersGarden & Landscape1 decade agowhy won't my tomatoes turn red? Even after I picked them and put them in a paper bag?
They are huge but NONE of them have turned red. I have 11 bushes loaded with huge green tomatoes. After following some advice I cut the vine and placed them in a paper bag and they still won't turn. I'm desperate! I have dreams of canning tons of sauce and diced tomatoes but they're not cooperating.
5 AnswersGarden & Landscape1 decade agoCan your gall bladder cause you to be anemic?
My father has been having some pretty serious health issues lately. He was hospitalized with pneumonia and CHF a few weeks ago and then relapsed shortly after he was discharged from the hospital. Luckily they caught it before it got really bad again and the second time he was treated with oral antibiotics and Lasix at home. Then he began feeling very nauseated and tired and became very anemic. We thought it was his medication and the doc thought he was losing blood from his stomach/intestines. He actually had to go into the hospital over the weekend because he was so weak he couldn't even get up to eat or go to the bathroom. After running a lot of tests the only thing they could find wrong with him was his gall bladder, which they removed today. He says he feels a million times better which is wonderful but could that have caused him to become so weak and anemic? He's lost so much weight too, he's 5' 10" and only weighs 136 lbs. I'm just worried they're missing something.
1 AnswerOther - Health1 decade agoIs the publisher of of The Hunger Games series planning on releasing the 1st chapter of Mockingjay online?
The waiting is killing me! I remember the 1st chapter of Catching Fire was available online.
1 AnswerBooks & Authors1 decade agoMy cucumber plants aren't sending out runners?
They are getting very top heavy and I'm afraid they are going to lean over so far they are going to break. I planted them on May 27th and am an amateur so maybe this is normal? If anyone has any wisdom to share I would appreciate it greatly!
2 AnswersGarden & Landscape1 decade agoMy son had a tonsillectomy and partial adenoidectomy a week ago today and is still running a low grade fever?
Is this normal? The fevers are low, ranging from 100 to 100.9. He is also complaining of mouth pain.
