y = x ^2 between x = 1 and x = 3

    integral from 1 to 3 of x^2

    = (1/3)x^3 from 1 to 3

    = (1/3)(27 - 1)

    = 9 - 1/3

    = 8 2/3 units.

    That's it!

    Area = (1/3)x^3 from x=3 to x=1

    .........= (1/3)(27-1) = 8.666...
