How to make LAN Card Active in Redhat Linux Enterprise?
Hi Friends I have dual boot XP and Redhat Linux Ent5
I am using Linux Redhat Ent5 Kernal Ver 2.6, I have got Realtek LAN Card RTL8169/8110 Gigabit Ethernet NIC, but Linux doesnt detect it at all.
I am not able to start internet or any networking since the most required thing is NIC, which is not being detected by linux.
I Guess the reason might be Kernel Ver but i tried to find suitable driver for my NIC for Kernel 2.6 but failed.
Can anyone of you tell me what to do to start networking or internet on Linux machine.
I have heard that driver can be wirtten mannually in Linux, anybody has idea, how to do it?

for this reason I recomend ubuntu based distros to novices the kit managment of different distros is in many situations greater good to apply i'm no longer asserting fedora is undesirable that could desire to be a extensive lie all distros are great some are basically no longer so consumer friendly in case you prefer to stay with fedora you're superb off getting a e book that covers your distro and could walk you thru installs of apps and the likes. that's what it took me to pass to the subsequent leval with linux I have been given a e book at barnes and noble for ubuntu and it helped extensive. as I keep in mind they have books for susefedora besides. the different option is to distro hop onto a distro that has the products preinstalled you choose. if all else fails there is ubuntu remarkable and it particularly is setup in that way. yet its complicated to locate. for this reason i take advantage of linux mint its have been given incredibly much each and every thing put in i wanted.
