I need my fix!!!!?

I have lived in Austin for 2 years now and I have yet to find a GOOD mexican restaruant. Can anyone help me. specific dish is called fajita rancheras, nobody here knows what it is. Am I just to far north of the border to get it?

Update:

fajita rancheras is a plate of smoking hot beef or chicken fajitas mixed with green peppers, onions, and tomatoes. Topped with ranchera sauce (spicy). and ontop of all of that is a good helping of goat cheese or queso blanco

served with rice and borracho beans. It's more tex-mex. but I still want authentic mexican food.

    got it!

South Lamar, if you are heading north it's just past Oltorf. It has a giant lady on top of the building. It is delicious!!! It's mexican food made by authentic mexican people who are from the valley area.

The tortillas are fresh, and yummy and everything I have had there was to die for!!

If you like the food in Mission Texas and McAllen and further South you will like this place!!

Also, if you go east on 6th past ih35 you will come upon a bery hispanic populated area and they even sell the corn with the may and chili (elote?) so so good!!

You can even get avacados from mexico over there (which if you are a true mexican food lover you know they are the best!!)

    Good luck on your adventures!

Perhaps if you describe it? I've lived all over Texas for the past three decades and I've never heard of it. Where are you from in that you have not found what you consider "GOOD" Mexican food?

Are you looking for Tex-Mex? Cal-Mex? Ari-Mex? Or are you looking for authentic Mexican food? Fajitas come from South Texas.

EDIT: I just did a search, and I found an Austin restaurant named Habanero that is supposed to serve this dish. (I still don't know what is in it, though.)
