Internet fast, laptop slow?

Well, my internet connection is fairly fast. On my laptop I can browse the internet fast, etc. But when I go to play games like WoW it goes really slow and lags. I know it lags because of the internet because it tells me I have a yellow connection. Why does my internet go slow when playing games? What can I buy to improve this?

Update:

Specs:

Windows Vista (this may be why)

1791 MB of RAM

1.90 GHz

Graphics card says..Nvidia Geforce 7000m/nforce 610m

On a side note, I know it is not my router as games run slow on both of the routers I use(different ones) and when I play on a desktop computer on the routers games run smoothly.

Update 2:

Another thing I forgot to mention is that even when I direct connect my laptop to the router the same things occur.

It's likely to be a memory problem, since games take more processing by te computer. take the laptop to a certified repair place if it's still under warrenty, and have the memmory upgraded

Adding extra RAM does little, if anything, to enhance Net-surfing speeds. Your connection time is only as fast as your connection speed (i.e., if you're on a 56K modem, it will take longer to access the Net, no matter how much memory you have installed). You might want to run an anti-spyware program to scan your laptop for malware that normally impedes system speed and performance. Alternatively, it could also be possible that the server was slow/down at the time you were trying to access the website. Is it ALWAYS slow accessing any website? Clearing your Internet cache/history can help to a certain extent.

If the FRAMERATE is slow, then it's the laptop's ability to display graphics. (In WoW I believe it's Ctrl R to view the framerate). Below 30 and you will notice choppiness. Try turning down the effects in Video properties.

If you have a yellow connection, you may need to turn off your downloads or internet radio if you have those on. Games require more bandwidth than browsing does. If you listed your bandwidth speeds, it would be more helpful. It also can depend on your network traffic, wireless connectivity (if applicable), and ISP.

You may also just need to forward the WoW ports to your computer using the settings in your router. I'm sure http://worldofwarcraft.com/ has some sort of help for this.

Assuming that WoW is World of Warcraft, it has some pretty lenient system requirements. But just because it will work on some slower systems, that does not mean that it will work *well*. You didn't give the specs for your laptop but it almost doesn't matter, you can not upgrade components on a laptop outside of memory and hard drive capacity and even that is not certain on certain models. Increasing your memory should make a noticeable difference but not more than a faster processor and better, accelerated graphics card. Play on a different computer.

Have you tried playing the same game on another, better computer to make sure it is not just your slow computer? Browsing the internet is a much less intensive task than playing an online game.

Using a registry cleaner can clean up your computer and then make your computer faster,Why?the reason is that there may be some regsitry errors and remnant, corrupt files and temp files in your computer to cause "computer slow".

Everytime you install and uninstall software on your computer and surfing online you create junk in the computer registry.over time, the registry can grow to enormous proportions, especially if the various programs you've installed do not do a good job of deleting and/or updating it's Registry entries. You need to scan and clean your computer with registry cleaner to make it fast.Good Regisry Cleaner will improve your computer and Internet performance dramatically!

There are some comparison and review of TOP 5 registry cleaners.

It can be a combination of things. Either your router is slow, your graphics card on your laptop is weak or you don't have much ram. Those things all factor into game lag.
