Mississippi River Flooding?

Will farmers in Iowa, Missouri replant the flooded fields or is it too late.

    After the river goes back down and they trawl water out of their homes and fields, yes, they'll tend to their crops again.

    It's too late for most. Plus, the flood water may have contaminated the fields with salmonella, so they will need to wait a while before replanting. Not until next season will they be able to plant.

    On a side note, they're expected the price of gasoline to go up due to the flooding of the corn fields. Corn is the primary ingredient in ethanol, which makes up 10% of our gasoline mix.

    It's way too late in the season to do a heck of a lot for most people. That's the farm life, and you figure out how to get by somehow. . . and maybe that'll make grain prices a bit interesting for the rest of us for a while.
